In Ireland, hundreds of pregnant people are still forced to travel to access abortion care. The mandatory 3 day wait, 12-week limit, and continued criminalisation of providers, feeds into this situation. Across Europe, more than 20 million people do not have access to abortion.
We have the opportunity to achieve something monumental. The “My Voice, My Choice” European Citizens’ Initiative campaign offers people across Europe the opportunity to support pregnant people who are still being denied access to abortion. If we succeed, the European Commission will establish a mechanism which will ensure everyone in Europe has access to safe, timely and legal abortion care.
