The September 28 Day Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion is a global
campaign wherein individuals and organisations in different countries, simultaneously mobilise
on September 28 through various actions, for the same demands- decriminalise abortion,
provide access to safe and affordable abortion services and end stigma and discrimination
towards women who choose to have an abortion.

In Northern Ireland access is often illegal and other options are prohibitively expensive, against a backdrop of non-progressive governance and religious conservatism. Alliance for Choice plans to inform women about the options currently available to them – until they can effect a change in the current restrictive legislation.
