Jessie de Boe is a visual artist whose work explores themes of nudity and the body.
I created these images to express my solidarity with Irish women and to show my pride for what I believed in. I was inspired to use embroidery as it is a traditionally female craft. The white pants represent the innocence of being a woman and sex – that sex doesn’t make you dirty/used. Women alone have to deal with the physical consequence of sex, whether it was consensual or not.
I am so proud to be Irish today. I keep getting emotional at the fact that we actually did it. After every march, every argument at the dinner table, every tear. We did it.
